Ate Maxx is always there for me when I need a pick-me-up and has shown me the real truths of adulthood (solicited or not). I will never forget the times my kwentos turn into life lessons at the dinner table, all the karaoke sessions in her old room, and the first time she made me try a cart.

Maxx has always understood me in ways no one else could. We just always had that undeniable, invisible string always keeping us connected.I remember we had one of the biggest fights in our friendship, a time I literally blocked her for 3 months or more. But when I was ready, she welcomed me back with open arms. In my mind, my impulsiveness could have cost me the most genuine and effortless friendship I've ever known. But for her, even in that time of 0 communication, there was never a doubt we'd eventually find our way back to each other. I will never forget how much compassion she had for me, and how much confidence she had in our friendship-- one that, after this, I was certain would last me a lifetime.

We were in Tali with the group a few years ago, and after our afternoon dip at the beach, we may have had a little *too* much fun (wink wink). When we finally decided to head back to the BnB, we realized we didn't have anything for dinner! So Maxx and Stan volunteered to go out and buy food, and they came back with Jollibee for the entire group haha!

Another story: The night after their wedding, we decided to have dinner and drinks downstairs where Stan and Maxx were staying. Maxx couldn't join us because she was still recovering from the after-after party. She sent me a video message from bed, still wearing her falsies with the glue on pa! I told her I was still recovering from the after-after party too, and she immediately offered me her room so I could crash with her. Even though I kind of knew she probably wanted some quiet time and space for herself, she didn't hesitate to offer.

When we went to LU together with our friend group, I found myself bad tripping (😉) one night and feeling kind of overwhelmed, though I didn’t tell her that. Later on, we found ourselves in a smaller room but still with a few randos coming in and out. I found myself gravitating to Maxx for some familiarity, and she opened up about her family and her life struggles and I found myself at ease and comforted just having those real conversations with her. It really turned my night around and reminded me how talking to long time friends makes everything better.

She, with no hesitation, would go to my house every single day after a break up and would listen to the same story for weeks until I got over it.

Taking the time to have dinner with Katya and I on your last night in Barcelona even after all the wedding festivities, and also offering helpful advice as an eldest sister. You made us feel welcome despite being away for so many years.

She’s a great daughter, sister and partner from what I see - I’m honestly in constant hanga.She’s there for family and Stan without any rest or complaint, pure love and support always. KAYOD because she loves so wholeheartedly!

This is a bit recent but I think speaks a lot about Maxx and how she looks after the people in her life. My mom had been in and out of the hospital, and while I was quietly going through the ordeal, she sent a message to say she was thinking of and praying for my family. Knowing that Maxx also had a lot going on, I so appreciated her thoughtfulness and was reminded that we are never alone ♡

I’ll never forget the year she came into PCST. She was the new student and I had already been at that school for around three years before she came in. I still remember noticing her right away. She was very talkative, very kikay, had a bedazzled phone, and she just really stood out. I remember she was always smiling and laughing!I remember looking at her and at that point I didn’t even know her yet but I just felt like she was someone you’d wanna be friends with. It’s so funny because at that age you don’t really know how to explain it but you just know you’d wanna be part of her circle.Her presence really made an impact and luckily we did become friends because I genuinely can’t imagine not knowing her now!! Also back then, she was definitely someone you wanted to be on good terms with because she could honestly be scary if she didn’t like you HAHAHA (LOVE YOU MAXX)I think the one thing I’ll also never forget about Maxx is the wisdom she always shares with us. I love going to her for advice because she just sees things in a different light, and I’ve always loved hearing her perspective on things. She always makes me realize things in a different way too, and honestly, she always just makes sense. She’s never wrong and time has literally proven that every single time she’s given me advice.I guess one thing she said that really stayed with me, and it’s so funny because I think I was only like 12 when she said it, was that wearing pearls every day will make you look prettier. Back when we were in school together, Maxx wore pearls every single day, and honestly, after she said that, I did too HAHAHA. I don’t know why but I’ve just never forgotten it. It’s such a small thing but it’s stayed with me up until now.

When she helped me become closer to my mom, simply by reminding me to empathize and process grief from a different perspective. We can always depend on Maxx to guide us in the right direction, and to feel no judgment in getting there

She’s always been so supportive, whether it’s personal or for your growth. I love having her around.

The way how, despite being on different continents for 8 years, she’s reminded me of how much our friendship means to her and how proud she is of me.

Honestly Maxx, I'm always excited to get to hang with you. I think it's your genuine warmth and presence — it comes through in every interaction. The times we do get extended conversations (like the car ride in Tags), you're always ready to listen and open to sharing, even when it comes to touchier or more personal topics. Always a clear net positive on the vibe.Perhaps the biggest thing I've appreciated, though, is how you've really taken care of Stan throughout the years. We're a bunch of silly monkeys as you know— and who knows where we'd be without the people who help keep us on the right path (and give us side glances when we're being idiots). As his friend, I'm grateful you've always loved Stan the way you have — and very happy that you have him by your side as well.

Every time I stop and think about what I’m grateful for (like you always remind me to do), you are at the very top of the list. You set such high standards for yourself and work so hard for everything you achieve. You’re driven, determined... and somehow still manage to show up for everyone around you all the time. You carry so much for the people you love. I don’t know how you do it, but you do. How to be you?

Thank you for being someone I can look up to and count on for anything and everything. You've shown up for me in different ways in every possible way, especially as an ate, a second mom, a therapist, and a lifelong best friend that will always be there for me. You deserve all the support and love that you selflessly give to everyone around you.

I don't think there's anything she doesn't already know. Even when I don't tell her, we're always connected (orbit forever duh). But one thing I will say is, watching her even from oceans away always makes me proud to know and have her in my life. We’ve known each other for so long and we’ve gone through so many different stages of life together, and I feel like this is something I always say to her whenever it’s her birthday, but I’m just so blessed to have her in my life.Even back in grade school, her impact on my life was already so huge, and I just want her to know how grateful I am that our paths crossed and that I got to grow up with her through all these different stages of life. I feel so lucky that we all get to go through life together as girls, and I’ve found so much love in her and in our friendship, and that’s something I’ll always be grateful for.And honestly, I just want her to know how proud I am of her. It’s been such a joy watching her grow into the woman she is today, as a friend, as a student, as a daughter, as a sister, as a working girl, and now as a wife too.
